Client:
A large DCH that delivers critical infrastructure services that enhance the reliability of internet and telecommunications networks, making them more intelligent, and secure. Everyday, the DCH helps thousands of businesses and millions of consumers connect, communicate, and transact with confidence.

Business Problem:
The customer wanted to launch a new-generation service, global Wireless Data Roaming Service, designed to help carriers in interoperable solutions and expand connectivity so that users can roam from one location to another, without any interruption in service. The customer required a Billing System, which permits easy billing for multiple domains like CDMA, GSM/GPRS and Wi-Fi. The billing system had to be flexible and scalable to adapt to the addition of future services with minimal changes to the software. The challenge lay in collecting user’s usage data from the network element and delivering that information to the billing application. The objective was to provide a comprehensive solution in rating, billing, currency conversion, settlement and clearing. All the information pertaining to the subscriber and the usage would need central collation and processing for the invoicing and net settlement.

is fully convergent with technologies like CDMA, GSM/GPRS and Wi-Fi and flexible enough to add future services with minimal change to the software. Mediation Process collects user’s usage data from the network element, transforms it into useful business information according to specified business rules, and then delivers that information to the billing application. Validation Process validates all files that the mediation layer receives. Rating and Billing Process rates the usage records depending on the requisite rate plan and discounting information of the user/content provider and calculates charges and credit for each account to be billed. Settlement and Clearing Process generates transaction files to be sent to the bank/credit/debit card clearing house, and processes response files returned from the bank/credit/debit card clearing house and credits approved payments to the customer account. Currency Conversion converts charges, credits, adjustments, and other amounts to the customer’s preferred invoice currency. This provides easy accessibility and minimal dependence on the multiple geographical regions. The solution extracts all relevant roaming data from the usage records passing through the system, makes necessary transformations, and retains it in a data repository for analysis and reporting. RevSquare provides the whole suite of reports, which are targeted to satisfy the needs of the operation team, marketing team and financial team of Mobile Operators.
